The beautiful header you'll see throughout the blog is the work of Pip Dickens, a contemporary British artist based in Leeds.
This particular painting (cropped, unfortunately!) is entitled "Femme Fatale IV" and is one of a set of charcoal drawings ("Femme Fatale").
Currently still a work in progress, Pip says "these charcoal drawings are preparatory work in progress studies towards paintings based on glamorous and seductive fabrics worn by femme fatales (or sirens) of Film Noir."
Many thanks to Pip for allowing me to use her work on my blog, and have a look at some of her paintings on the website (you'll find the URL in my links section).
